Meteorologist Mish Michaels earliest childhood memory is of a tornado ripping through the apartment complex where she lived with her parents. The storm inspired her to study Atmospheric Science at Cornell University which led to a career as a TV forecaster, storm chaser, environmental reporter, and educator in Boston. Mish worked for WHDH and WBZ and hosted a prime-time show on The Weather Channel called Atmospheres. Mish also holds a Master’s in Education degree from Harvard University and has spent time in hundreds of K-12 classrooms teaching students about weather.
Now Mish explores the skies with her daughter, Nalina Ashlee, who attends Hunnewell Elementary in Wellesley, MA. Along with other students, the mother-daughter team led the Ms. G campaign for the Massachusetts’ State Groundhog. During the campaign, Mish welcomed her second daughter and spent Groundhog Day 2014 watching Ms. G’s forecast on TV from a Boston hospital. The newest Ms. G fan, Anaka, arrived at 4:50am, February 3rd, keeping the spotlight on Ms. G every February 2nd!
